Legal Advisory for Egypt’s Energy Sector

Khodeir & Partners brings extensive experience advising leading Egyptian, regional, and multinational energy companies, infrastructure providers, and investors on complex regulatory, transactional, and dispute-related matters across Egypt and the wider region.

Our approach combines deep regulatory insight — including direct experience engaging with the Ministry of Petroleum & Mineral Resources, EGAS, EGPC, and GANOPE — with international-standard execution across regulatory, PPP, corporate, commercial, competition, and dispute resolution mandates. We are a strategic partner to our clients, supporting both day-to-day legal needs and high-stakes matters requiring precision, speed, and commercial judgment.

EGYPT’S ENERGY LANDSCAPE

Egypt has been moving with intent to establish itself as a regional gas hub for the East Mediterranean. As a priority, Egypt is seeking maximized and effective use of its LNG infrastructure, improving connectivity across the gas network, and efficiently bringing more gas to market. IOCs and regional NOCs active in the Egyptian sector — including those structuring and operating upstream activities — must navigate issues ranging from LNG tolling and joint ventures to commercial and regulatory risk management.

Khodeir & Partners works regularly within this environment and has developed a practical understanding of how Egypt’s oil and gas sector functions on the ground, including the respective roles of its key regulatory bodies. We are accustomed to dealing with sector-specific issues as they arise, and to factoring in the cross-border considerations that increasingly accompany gas development in Egypt and the region.
